Castlevania: Symphony of the Night Review
by: Aquas
This is definetly my favorite Castlevania ever. Some people may think
it's absolutely necessary to remake a game in 3D on a console that can.
But Konami didn't. They packed in atleast 50 hours of gameplay into
this rockin sidescroller. And the title says it all, the music is
fantastic! greatly orchestrated and synthesized music to entertain your
ears as is your eyes to the great detail on objects, clothing, enemies,
blood etc! the list goes on.
Two new innovates were introduced to this game:
one being the ability to cast brilliantly awesome spells, from gaining life
from bloodshed,
to transforming to ethereal mist. Another being the
change of the weapon whip, to swords, maces, and other trinkets. To
some this may be a dropback to classy Castlevania fans, but to others, this
may open a whole new guage of funness to them.
Honestly, If I had to vote on whips to other weapons, I'd vote for whips.
You should never let a classic thing go by.
The other great thing in this game is the ammount of gameplay hours!
Get this: Once you (so to speak) complete the game, you can go over it
again with the castle upside down. Pretty freaky huh? And it isn't all
the same stuff, there are new items, bosses, everything, In the new
upside down castle. Konami, keep up the great work.
To finish it off, Castlevania SotN includes a lot of 'not what you think
would be in Dracula's Castle' items. LOL, I'v seen things from New York
Style pizza, to your normal Pot-roast :D. I can't think of all the funny
things that appear but I assure you, you'll either get a good laugh about
some items that come up, or a strange sense feel. Hehe, I hope you know
what I mean.
I rate this game a 10 out of 10, and I'm not just saying this so you
buy it. Don't ever underestimate Konami nor Castlevania.
